Screen to Prevent (S2P): Using Digital Health to Improve HIV Screening and Prevention for Adolescents in the Emergency Department (ScreenSmart (S2P, Screen 2 Prevent))

In the United States, approximately 1.2 million people live with HIV/AIDS, and more than 20% of all new infections occur in adolescents and young adults (AYA) 13-24 years old. Further, only half of HIV-infected AYA are aware of their diagnosis compared to 85% of adults. Although behaviors that can increase risk of HIV acquisition often start in adolescence, HIV screening in this population is inadequate.
