Socially Equitable Care by Understanding Resource Engagement - Implementation Trial (SECURE IT)

We propose a systematic evaluation of implementation barriers, and matching of strategies to address these barriers, followed by a trial that places equal emphasis on implementation and effectiveness. We hypothesize that site-specific tailored implementation strategies can overcome barriers to implementation of the SECURE protocol. The proposed pragmatic trial based in 5 health systems in the Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network (PECARN) will leverage implementation science theories and human-centered design methods to improve access to social resources for PED patients and their caregivers.
